The Engineering Behind
the Independence.

Every component chosen for Bangladesh's specific conditions — 60°C heat, 200+ lightning days per year, irregular grid, and households that need reliability, not promises.

BATTERY CHEMISTRY

Why LiFePO4 wins.
Every time.

LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate — the safest battery chemistry) is not a premium choice. For Bangladesh, it is the only rational choice.

Specification LiFePO4 (AAA Battery) Lead-Acid IPS
Cycle life 3,000+ cycles (IEC 61960 rated) 300–500 cycles
Bangladesh-adjusted life 5–10 years 12–18 months
Heat tolerance Up to 60°C — handles Bangladesh summers Degrades significantly above 35°C
Fire / safety risk None. Thermally stable chemistry. Produces hydrogen gas + acid risk
Maintenance required Zero Monthly water topping + terminal checks
Depth of discharge 80–90% usable capacity 30–50% (deeper discharge = fewer cycles)
Weight ~10kg (1kWh unit) ~25kg (equivalent capacity)
5-year total cost (1 kWh) ৳38,000–44,000 once ৳35,000–50,000 in replacements alone
"In 7 years of IPS, you spend ৳1.25–1.58 lakh in battery replacements and maintenance. The Nano costs ৳38,000–44,000. Once."

SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE

DC-Native Design.

Most systems route everything through an AC inverter — wasting 10–15% of your stored energy in conversion loss. AAA Battery routes DC loads directly from the battery.

SOLAR PANEL 300W Mono PERC 22% efficiency MPPT Charge Controller +15–30% vs PWM LiFePO4 BATTERY 1 kWh · 51.2V nominal 3,000+ IEC cycles BMS protected DC SPD Type 2 600V · 40kA DC-DC BUCK 48V → 12V regulated DC OUTPUT 12V Fans · LED Lights · Direct (no loss) INVERTER 500W Pure Sine · <3% THD AC OUTPUT 220V TV · Laptop · Other AC appliances USB-C PD 60W + QC3 GRID Backup via inverter (AC path)

DC path (direct)

Fans and LED lights connect directly to the 12V DC output — no inverter involved. Zero conversion loss. A DC ceiling fan drawing 25–35W runs 30–40% longer than an AC fan drawing 60–75W through the inverter.

AC path (via inverter)

TV, laptop, and standard AC appliances route through the 500W Pure Sine Wave inverter. Pure sine wave matters — it means your appliances receive clean power identical to grid power. No buzz, no flicker, no compatibility issues.

CHARGE CONTROLLER

MPPT, not PWM.

MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) continuously adjusts to find the optimal operating point of the solar panel — extracting maximum power regardless of battery state or panel temperature.

PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) — the cheaper alternative used by most Bangladesh installations — forces the panel to operate at battery voltage, wasting 15–30% of available power.

15–30%

more energy harvested per day vs. PWM controller. In Bangladesh's variable light conditions, this difference is pronounced.

Sunny Bangladesh day

MPPT output1,350–1,500 Wh
PWM output1,050–1,150 Wh

Cloudy Bangladesh day

MPPT output300–450 Wh
PWM output190–300 Wh

The cloudy day advantage is why MPPT matters in Bangladesh specifically — where monsoon season represents 4–5 months of variable light.

BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The intelligence inside the battery.

The BMS monitors every cell in real time and protects the battery from conditions that would shorten its life.

🔋

OVP

Over-Voltage Protection. Stops charging when cells reach maximum safe voltage — preventing permanent damage.

UVP

Under-Voltage Protection. Cuts output before cells reach critically low voltage — the leading cause of premature battery death.

🔌

OCP

Over-Current Protection. Limits discharge current to safe levels — protects both the battery and your appliances.

🌡️

Temperature

Real-time temperature monitoring. Slows charging when battery temperature is high — critical in Bangladesh's 40–45°C summers.

⚖️

Cell Balancing

Keeps all 16 cells in the 16S configuration at equal charge. An unbalanced pack degrades faster and has lower usable capacity.

📊

State of Charge

Accurate SoC display via the BMS display panel. You always know how much power you have remaining.

SURGE PROTECTION

Bangladesh has 200+ lightning strike days per year.

An unprotected solar system can be destroyed by a single nearby lightning strike. The transient voltage surge travels through the DC cable from panel to battery — frying the MPPT, the battery, and the inverter in a single event.

Every AAA Battery system includes a DC Surge Protection Device (SPD) Type 2, rated to IEC 61643-31 (600V, 40kA) as standard. It sits between the panel and the MPPT, diverting surge energy safely to ground before it reaches your system.

This is not an add-on. It is included because it would be irresponsible not to include it.

HONEST SPECIFICATION

Cycle life — the honest version.

The 3,000+ cycle rating is measured under IEC 61960 test conditions: 25°C, 0.5C discharge rate, controlled laboratory environment.

Bangladesh conditions are different. Higher ambient temperature (35–45°C in summer), irregular charging from grid backup, and variable discharge rates will affect real-world performance.

Our estimate for Bangladesh field life: 5–10 years depending on installation conditions, usage pattern, and maintenance. This is still 6–10× longer than any lead-acid IPS battery in Bangladesh conditions.

What we say: "5–10 year field service life" — not "10-year guarantee." We publish the honest number. Our AMC programme exists because proper maintenance extends life towards the upper bound.

TECHNOLOGY ROADMAP

The sodium-ion upgrade programme.

CATL's Naxtra sodium-ion battery launched at commercial scale in 2025. Sodium-ion offers three specific advantages for Bangladesh: lower cost per kWh, better high-temperature performance, and abundant sodium raw material vs. lithium's constrained supply chain.

AAA Battery is already building the supply relationships. Our current LiFePO4 system is not a compromise — it is the right technology for Bangladesh right now, available at proven cost. The sodium-ion programme is an upgrade path for when the technology is ready for the Bangladesh market.

Target deployment window: Q3–Q4 2026 pilot programme for early customers. YSBMF and TC community members are first in line.
